ARTIST’S STATEMENT

If only marionettes could master scissors well enough for paper dolls! I enjoy the irreverence of reflecting on life’s experiences on canvas. Call it a journal of sorts. My stylization takes some influence from such art movements as neoclassicism, art nouveau, deco, surrealism, fantasy and gothic sub-cultures, and low brow art. I enjoy the delusional battle between pop-culture prescribed feminism, and all that remains of being delicately feminine. This postmodern viewpoint holds my mind hostage to it’s own particular and personal reality.
