SUCH ART MOVEMENTS and periods HAVE INFLUENCED MY STYLIZATION and concepts as: LOW-BROW ART, NEOCLASSISM, SURREALISM, FANTASY AND GOTHIC SUB-CULTURES, ART NOUVEAU, ART DECO, HIEROGLYPHIC ART OF EGYPTIANS, CLASSIC MYTHOLOGY, CONTEMPORARY VISUAL ARTISTS INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: THE WORK OF: CAMILLE GARCIA, MARK RYDEN, SALVADOR DALI, FREIDA GALLO, AUDREY BEARDSLEY, MAN RAY, TIM BURTON, DEREK HESS, BROM, SCOTT CHURCH, MICHAEL PARKS, CYN MCCURRY, H.G. I AIM FOR A SHALLOW LANDSCAPE WITH A NARRATIVE, FIGURATIVE FOCAL POINT. ARTIST’S STATEMENT HERE’S A LONG-WINDED BABBLE ABOUT THE MEANING OF LIFE. SERIOUSLY, MY ART HAS VERY PERSONAL AND PRIVATE AGENDAS WHICH EVOLVE AS I DO. THE STYLIZATION HAS CHANGED, BUT THE FOCUS HAS REMAINED ON A FEMALE FORM IN A SHALLOW LANDSCAPE, REFLECTING A NARRATIVE SITUATION. ABOVE ALL ELSE LIFE EXPERIENCE HAS INFLUENCED MY ART.CALL IT MY JOURNAL OF SORTS. MY OWN ROLE IN TODAY’S POP-CULTURE SOCIETY, AS AN ARTIST and a woman, STRUGGLES TO BALANCE being FEMINIST and being feminine. THESE WORKS HAVE GROWN IRREVERENT LATELY AND HAVE TAKEN ON A MORE FUNHOUSE PERSPECTIVE.
